Regional Walk Day

Have your say: Help our region become more walkable!

How walkable is your neighborhood? Circulate wants to know! We are looking for people interested in making streets safer to rate the walkability of their neighborhood.

On Saturday, October 10, wherever you are, spend one to two hours rating the streets that are most important to you using our phone app, BestWALK. Get your friends to join and enjoy being a part of a regional movement to make streets more walkable!

How exactly does Regional Walk Day work?

  1. Download BestWALK on your Android or iPhone (it's easy to use but directions can be found here)
  2. Pick a time and place and organize a group of friends or neighbors to meet up and rate streets on October 10
  3. Have fun and let us know about your experience!

By RSVPing, you are pledging to rate streets on Regional Walk Day anywhere in the county.

Why rate streets?

The week of Halloween, Circulate San Diego will release the Regional Walk Scorecard, a report that ranks each city in the region for its walkability. We use the crowdsourced street ratings submitted by people like you as a crucial element in determining your city's score! Your city will be most accurately represented by having as many streets rated as possible.

What do I get out of it?

Besides the tremendous satisfaction of helping Circulate rank your city for its walkability, anybody who rates at least 100 streets will have their name included in the acknowledgements of the Regional Walk Scorecard report when it is released, and will be thanked on our website. You must rate 100 streets by October 12 to be included.

You can get a head start in rating streets anywhere in the region, no need to wait till October 10!

Thanks in advance for using BestWALK!
