Tell us a bit about yourself.
I was born and raised in San Diego. I attended undergraduate school at UCSD and graduated with a Bachelors in Urban Studies and Planning. After graduating college, I started graduate school at SDSU and graduated with a Masters in City Planning. Though I have lived in San Diego my entire life, I like to continue to explore my city by finding new running trails and coffee shops. I am also a baseball and soccer enthusiast.
How did you become interested in Circulate San Diego?
Circulate San Diego’s mission and values resonates with me. My background along with my interests in land use and housing has an intersection of transportation planning. Their work towards promoting public transit, safe streets, and sustainable growth is something I am excited about getting the opportunity to contribute to.
What’s your most memorable face palm moment? Or what is your biggest
achievement to date? Choose one.
As a first generation student, my biggest accomplishment to date is graduating with my Masters Degree in City Planning. Growing up I’ve witnessed how communities are differently impacted and my interest in equity is what fueled my passion to continue my education. Having the opportunity to help create healthier communities is what I aspire to achieve.
If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
Carolina Giraldo has demonstrated immense dedication and hard work. She promotes empowerment, confidence, and self expression. She remains sincere and authentic. Additionally, she has done philanthropic work that supports education, health, and social justice. Her integrity, achievement, and creativity is why I would choose her as my mentor.
